Collection: Lee Gate Farm

The Carr family has owned and farmed Lee Gate for 99 years, we are situated on the Limestone plateau above the popular tourist village of Malham, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales national park. Our farm encompasses several government recognised natural designations all of which our cattle graze over during summer months to ensure the area remains as it should be.

The beef herd consists of native breed cattle including Shorthorn, Longhorn, Hereford, Highland, Galloway, British White, White park and Irish Moil. We breed, store, and fatten our beef and deal directly with some of the UKs leading butchers and wholesale markets with full traceability along with our carbon data.

Because our cattle are native to the UK they are slower growing and take longer to mature, this and the fact they graze such a diverse pasture through the year really adds to the nutrient density of the beef which, in turn, affects the flavour profile.
